Man lernt doch immer wieder dazu. In diesem Fall besteht der Lerneffekt im Begriff "Liquor Shrinkage", einem Problem, das offensichtlich zahlreiche Bars in den USA betrifft. Einem Artikel in den RFIDnews zufolge, gehen Jahr für Jahr sieben Milliarden US-Dollar durch die Ausgabe von Freigetränken oder verschütteten Alkohol verloren.
Die Lösung des Problems: RFID! So erfahren wir in dem Artikel über zwei unterschiedliche Systeme, die die Ausgabe von Getränken in Bars genau tracken und so das unrechtmäßige Abfüllen von Drinks unmöglich machen. Capton's Beverage Tracker and Nuvo's BarVision, so die Namen der beiden Neuentwicklungen, die unredlichen Barkeepern auf die Pelle rücken:
